Boo for Blemishes!

With all the makeup, pollution and everything else that can affect our skin’s health, it’s no wonder keeping our skin as healthy as possible can be a little difficult. Regardless of our age the one thing that seems to creep up on us all are those clogged up pores and blemishes. Even the skin care fanatic will still have these issues from time to time.

Pimples, blackheads and whiteheads appear often when the skin pores are clogged with sebum and dirt. Good hygiene and diet are important – but sometimes we all need a little extra help.

Here are a few home remedies you can try -especially if you don’t need to go the dermatologist route just yet. These recipes below are pretty intense, so use them only up to twice a week, to keep the natural balance of your skin.

To be on a safe side, try these out the scrub on a hidden patch of your skin for 15 minutes, to discover any sensitivity you may have.

– Egg white: Cleans the pores effectively. It dries your skin, so be careful using this one. Separate the egg yolk and spread egg white on your nose or anywhere you are looking to shrink your pores.

– Lemon: freshly squeezed or grated, cleans the pores and has a whitening effect on the skin. Dilute it with water for larger areas, to avoid the feeling of a sting – it is a very powerful ingredient.

– Baking Soda: Cleans the pores and narrows them down. Add to 1 spoon of baking soda 2 tablespoons of water. Massage onto your face where it is black head prone. It is the simplest but also the strongest ingredient to remove blackheads. However do not use this one more than once a week.

– Oat: Milled organic oat cleans and refreshes the facial skin. It contains vitamin B group of vitamins and is rich with Manganese. This is an excellent way to occasionally exfoliate. Use a tablespoon of honey, teaspoon of cinnamon, 3 tablespoons oats and plain yogurt for a cooling mask. This is the most gentle of the home remedies for blemishes.

– Garlic: Use it locally on blemishes or large blackheads. However, it can be pretty intense in smell and the tingling on the skin. . It is the ultimate weapon against blemishes. Smash up the garlic, leave it on the pimples for about 10 minutes.
